1. Check Network Quality
Instead of starting with tariff comparisons, we recommend first testing network quality. Spain has four major operators with their own networks and wide coverage:
Orange
Vodafone (website may be unavailable outside Spain without VPN)
Movistar
Yoigo
Many other providers operate as virtual networks, using the infrastructure of these four main operators. Since signal quality depends on location, install the Opensignal app (available for iOS and Android) to determine connection quality in your area.
Test operators in several locations where you spend the most time — at home, at work, and in recreation areas.
2. Compare Tariffs
After testing confirms which operator provides the best signal in your area, visit the operators’ websites to study tariffs and current promotions. Sometimes online connection is cheaper than in the office, so it’s worth comparing digital offers before making a decision.

3. Sign the Contract
To set up the service, you’ll need an NIE (foreigner identification number in Spain) or Spanish passport, as well as a Spanish bank account. Carefully read the contract terms and decline unnecessary options before signing.
