It's definitely hard to choose at first glance. We will simplify it for you: you only need to do three steps!

1. Test the network quality

Usually everyone starts with comparing tariffs. We suggest you start with a different one.

There are four major providers in Spain with their own networks and wide coverage:

...And a huge number of other providers, in fact they're virtual. They operate on the basis of the big four players, so when choosing on the quality of communication, we are guided by the above list.

It may be that the Yoigo provider does not have its towers in some areas but uses the Orange network, and the speed of the Big Four operators may vary in different areas of the country. Therefore, it is vital to check which one works best in your case.

You have to install Opensignal, an application on your phone, which will help you determine the quality of connection in the place of your residence.

For Android

Actually, we recommend testing the providers in several places where you spend most of your time (home, work, usual places for long walks, etc.). If you don't want to be left without a connection on a trekking trip in the mountains, check in advance which operator has a signal in that place.

Once you have carried out the tests and got the results of the speed and quality, you will find out the cost of the service.

2. Compare tariffs

Only now it makes sense to visit the operators' websites, discover their rates and offers, and choose what suits you best.

Look out for promotions and special offers — sometimes connecting online is cheaper than going to the office!

  • Advice: Search for special offers on the operators' websites.

3. Sign a contract

After comparing prices and quality you can make a final choice and sign a contract.

To make a contract you will need NIE (Número de Identificación de Extranjero — foreigner identification number) or Spanish passport and a Spanish bank account.

It is possible to get NIE in advance, before travelling to Spain. We can help you with it!

At this stage, read the terms carefully, cut off unnecessary options and use the most favourable options for you. Good luck!
